From the recording Forward Nocturnal Imagination

The idea for this piece came to me through a recent natural disaster. The horrible struggle of a family to be reunited.

I wrote the lyrics in an afternoon. I was busy running errands but had the tune in my head. I kept having to pull over a write it down or make a quick recording on my phone to avoid losing my words.

I love delay pedals. Recently I purchased another one for my collection and love the way the lead guitar came out on this.

~Enjoy!

Lyrics

Little one I call you better get back home, your mommas crying for you son. She needs her boy to act like a man cause your daddy’s gone and he ain't coming back.

Floodwaters rising over the pavement collect your family this instant get 'em to the boat and row. Row, Row, Row. Let no grass grow under your feet, ever moving towards the sun. Spare my little one.

The governor declared a state of emergency. You better tie it down if you wanna see the light again. Wipe the tears from your face honey child. Alpha and Omega you’re the only one who can save you.

Hold back the devils thirst, save the women and children first. The fire's coming for us all. The fire's coming for us all. The fire's coming for us all. The fire's coming for us all. The enemy's at the gate, your momma's gonna have to wait. Spare my little one.

Now the ground begins to move, mother earth has opened its wound. Death's coming for us soon. Death's coming for us soon. Death's coming for us soon. Death's coming for us soon. Don't look it in the eye. Ever moving towards the sun. Spare my little one.
